Sunday Night Football
I usually don't watch Sunday Night Football but tonight I definatly am. The Vikes are playing the Bears. Huge game. Both tied for first. And the Packers just lost so even better. I hope the Vikings just dominate but who knows. Adrian will probably run over the Bears "D" but we will need some passing yards to beat the Bears. The stage is set. Lets get it on!
3 way tie
With the Oklahoma Sooners win over Oklahoma State, it made the Big 12 South a three way tie. The teams are Texas, Oklahoma, and Texas Tech. The team that is ranked higher will play Missouri for the Big 12 Championship. As of now Texas is ranked 2 and in the lead but sports analests say that Oklahoma will pass them as the new #2. We will just have to see how that turns out and who ends up playing for the BCS Title game.

BCS all scrambled up
Once you think you have the BCS in your grasp, something happens. That thing this week was #2 Texas Tech fell huge to #5 Oklahoma 65-21. The Oklahoma offense was firing on all cylinders while the high powered Texas Tech offense couldn't get it together. But the main reason Oklahoma won by a huge margin had to be their defense. They held Texas Tech to their worst offense performance of the season. Now there are three Big 12 South teams tied with one loss. It looks like we will have to wait til the last game on the last teams schedule to see who is in the BCS title game.

Is it basketball season already?
It's the first game for many division 1 mens basketball teams and there was already one close game with a ranked team involved. The team was Duke, and yes I said Duke. They are ranked 5 and already got a test. Duke faced off against Rhode Island and Duke was highly favored. Rhode Island put that in the back of their minds though. Duke was up 1 with 10 seconds and Rhode Island had the ball. The threw it in and took a shoot but missed and Duke got the ball and made both free-throws. Rhode Island had one last desperation shot and took it. They missed and Duke pulled through. If this is just the first game in the season, I can't wait til March Madness!
Trick plays the new thing?
It seems as though college football has turned into trick plays as their go to plays. There were many trick plays this past week and they pretty much all worked. All though not really trick plays, onside kicks are still tricky in my play book. Navy used the onside kick twice as they recovered the ball both times against Notre Dame. Navy did end up falling but seemed like they perfected the onside kick. Boston College also used the onside kick on a suprise attack in the first quarter after their first touchdown. They ended up winning their game against #19, Florida State. The most gutsy call was probably Texas when their place-kick holder, also their WR, took the snap and leaped over the whole defense line to gain the first down. Lets see next week if the trick plays continue.

Oklahoma State no problem for Texas Tech
The only word to describe this game was, "blowout". Thats what the game was the whole way. Texas Tech was clicking on offense and Oklahoma State couldn't figure it out. So far #2 Texas Tech has found it inside them to win these two big games back to back. Grahm Harrell had another huge game when he went 40-50 with 456 passing yards and 6 TDs. He is one of the front runners for the Heisman and I think if he keeps playing like this he will win. Texas Tech has another huge test next week against #6 Oklahoma. This will be the battle of the QB's as they both have Heisman hopefulls on their teams.

Another great one!
It was another great college football game with the #8 rated Utah vs. the #12 rated TCU. The game was expected to be close but this game put a whole new meaning to that. TCU had many chances to go up by more but their kicker #37, missed two key field goals. TCU was up by 4 with a little bit left in the game. Utah's QB, Brian Johnson led Utah on a 80 yard drive and completed a fourth down play to set them ahead 13-10. Utah WR, Freddie Brown had the big catches with 9 annd a total of 105 yards. Even though TCU had more total offensive yards, they couldn't pull away with the victory. Utah now 10-0 hoping to move up in the standings, faces off against San Diego State next week with hopes of coming away with a victory and keepeing their undefeated season alive.

Texas falls in dramatic fashion
It came down to the final seconds in this thriller. #7 Texas Tech Red Raiders faced off against the already proven #1 Texas Longhorns. The Longhorns have already beaten former #1, the Oklahoma Sooners, and also the Missouri Tigers and the Oklahoma State Cowboys (all in thr top #11). But the Red Raiders seemed to be too much for the Longhorns. Texas Tech lead the whole way starting off the game strong with a safety. They lead at half but the second half was all Texas untill the final seconds. Texas QB, Colt McCoy lead Texas on a strong drive which ended with a touchdown, and gave them the lead 33-32. Texas Tech got the ball back and drove the ball down the field but they knew they needed to get within at least 40 yards because their kicker was in the stands last game and got on the team by winning a contest. So they drove it down and with 8 seconds left, Texas Tech QB, Grahalm Harrel found WR Michael Crabtree and Crabtree took it to the house in dramitic fashion winning 39-33.

It's the Phillies
Strike three, Phillies win, Phillies win! Those are just some of the words you might have heard as Brad Lidge gets the final out with a strike three. The game had been post-ponned twice before finally they got to finish it out. The Phillies and Rays started the game in the 7th inning with the game all tied up. The Phillies were the first to score in the so called three inning game, and it turned out to be enough. It looks like their win in game three did turn out to be there turning point in this series (as I called). It was their first World Series win in a long time and their pitcher Cole Hamels got the MVP (along with a new car). In their parade, Jimmy Rollins joked about the Mets having a good player in Johan Santana but they didn't have a team like the Phillies did. Well they can enjoy this World Series win untill next season when they have to get back on the field and play their next season.
